Denisova Cave in Altai is one of the most famous places of paleontological, archaeological and anthropological research. It was there in 2019 that fragmentary remains were found - teeth, a phalanx of a finger and two fragments of a parietal bone - of the Denisov man, who is now considered one of the species of ancient people, along with Sapiens and Neanderthals.
Scientists have long known that Neanderthals used glue made mainly from birch bark in the manufacture of weapons and implements. Traditionally, it was believed that its production required calcination of the source material without air access.
